TOMORROW (2008)
Images from : "The Audacity of Tomorrow", PS 122, E. 10th St. NYC, a show that addressed the exploitation of the country's desperation to oust the current American regime and instill a new one, as an excuse to perhaps too easily pass rhetoric as reason....
"Tomorrow" video piece is one hour long and plays opposite the actual setting sun (8-9PM) at an incredibly slow pace of minute change. Very gradually the colors parallel those of the sky outside the window, as t the word TOMORROW, at first barely visible becomes increasingly larger, continuing an arc over the viewer's head so that by the video's end, the word is imposing as to be out of the frame. Ever visible in the distance yet ever elusive.
The image of a small collage/plaque was color xeroxed fifty times and placed beside a paper shredder ballot box near the rooms exit. Viewer participation was welcomed.
